I debuted my half finished Kaylee Frye costume today. I still need to swap out the temporary patches I made for the real one’s, add elastic to the waist and take in the legs a bit because it was quite baggy. But I got corned into some group shots with a Jayne and Mal and a few people excitedly recognised me and asked for photos too so I’m pretty pleased with myself.
I also chatted to Kai Owens and saw John Rhys Davies today so it’s been a really great weekend.
I went to Comic Con today and I got a photo taken on the Iron Throne and I met Paul McGann and Sylvester McCoy and Carl Weathers and Alexander Vlahos smiled and winked at me and I’m so so tired. Doing it all again tomorrow dressed as Kaylee Frye.
RT-America anchor quits on air
The Daily Beast: An American anchor working for RT-America, a cable news network funded by the Russian government, announced her resignation on air Wednesday.
“As a reporter on this network I face many ethical and moral challenges especially me personally coming from a family whose grandparents came here as refugees during the Hungarian revolution, ironically to escape the Soviet forces,” she said, immediately following a report claiming that the new Ukrainian government, which ousted pro-Russian president Viktor Yanukovych, is composed mainly of fascists and neo-Nazis. “I’m very lucky to have grown up here in the United States. I’m the daughter of a veteran. My partner is a physician at a military base where he sees every day the first-hand accounts of the ultimate prices that people pay for this country. And that is why personally I cannot be part of a network that whitewashes the actions of Putin. I am proud to be an America and believe in disseminating the truth and that is why after this newscast I’m resigning.”
Earlier this week, RT host Abby Martin ended her program by denouncing Russia’s military intervention in Ukraine. Martin remains an employee of the network.
"I never said I wanted to be a lead actress; I never said I wanted to be a film actress. This need to trump everyone bewilders me. I’m only 25. I’m not better than anyone. I just want to watch other people and learn to be good."
I could only drag myself out I bed today because Izaak said we could go get the chicken wraps I love from a local shop, and then I ended up back in bed from 4 - 7 so I’m probably going to be up all night playing the Sims. Not my best day, but I’m thinking positively. Tomorrow I’m visiting my Mam and my Nana because they’re both ill so it’ll be nice to see people and keep busy.
So I’ve been trying to think of a theme for my birthday this year because I didn’t do fancy dress last year and I’m really excited and I think I’m gunna go with 90’s or 90’s pop culture mostly just so I can wear Cher’s yellow plaid outfit from Clueless is this a good idea y/n?
